Artist's Portfolio : Oil Paintings, Wood Carvings, Fine Furniture

Rick was born and raised in New York City and currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a Viet-Nam veteran and a retired NYC Firefighter. He has been creating art all of his life and in earlier years created fine furniture incorporating carved elements and relief carvings. His works also include many stone and wood sculptures in the round. In recent years Rick has been concentrating his artistic energies on painting in artist oils and his latest works have been mainly original, modern abstract art, varying in colors, textures, and techniques, expressing a wide range of emotions. Rick studied sculpture at The Art Students League under Jose DeCreeft and design at The Fashion Institute Of Technology, both in New York City. Rick paints for the love of art and studying is a life long pursuit. His works include impressionism, abstract art, and realism. Like Nietzsche, he feels that "truly beautiful art is a statement of gratitude for  the privilege of experiencing what has been portrayed". Painting provides joy, peace, and tranquility!
